Bismita Barik is an AI Scientist and healthcare technology specialist with over 13 years of experience driving large-scale digital transformation across India’s public healthcare and governance systems through advanced AI and machine learning solutions. Her expertise spans generative AI, explainable AI (XAI), NLP, and federated learning, and she has developed impactful systems for Electronic Health Records (EHR), clinical fraud detection, predictive analytics, and personalized genomics in women’s health.

Currently, she is developing innovative healthcare AI solutions grounded in safe, explainable, and responsible AI, strengthening efficiency, transparency, and citizen experience across programs under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Government of Odisha. Previously, she architected multi-modal AI and edge-based models at Osmat India Limited, and led AI initiatives at the National Health Authority and ESIS, including fraud detection for AB-PMJAY and the Dhanwantari EMR digitization project.

A recipient of the Ek Naari So Pe Bhaari Award (2024), Bismita holds an Executive MBA from Great Lakes Institute of Management and an M.Tech in Computer Science.
