About Affordable Quality Health: Affordable Quality Health (AQH) is a not-for-profit entity (section 8 Company), established in India with the primary aim of providing educational services, research skills and knowledge transfer capabilities in disciplines of health sciences and allied streams. Consequently, InOrder, The Health Systems Institute was established to work towards improving health system performances and health outcomes through academics, capacity building initiatives and translational research endeavours. It is a DSIR-recognized centre for evidence generation and evidence synthesis in domains of public health and related domains. InOrder is committed to expand its academic and capacity building activities in disciplines of medicine, public health, nursing, management and social sciences. It has active partnerships with global partners like ACCESS Health International and context-specific collaborations with donor agencies, UN bodies, international organizations, state governments and the government of India.
Applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates for the position of Project Research Scientist under commissioned Implementation Research Project titled “An Implementation Research Study for Strengthening the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) in Odisha” under the guidance of Prof. Bhuputra Panda as the Principal Investigator. This is a three-year project, being implemented in collaboration with KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar; and is being funded by ICMR, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Research Scientist – I (Non Medical) will provide scientific, technical, and implementation support for the RKSK implementation research project. The role involves coordination with government stakeholders, field monitoring, training facilitation, data analysis, and scientific documentation / publication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and implementation support for successful achievement of project deliverables.
- Coordinate with state/district-level government officials and project stakeholders.
- Plan and conduct training and capacity-building activities under the project.
- Undertake regular field monitoring visits and supervision.
- Ensure timely and high-quality data collection, management and analysis.
- Prepare technical reports, policy briefs, project documentation and manuscripts.
- Participate in review meetings, dissemination workshops, and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with ICMR and institutional research guidelines.
- Assist the PI in project planning, documentation, and coordination activities.
- Undertake any other task as assigned by the PI from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Essential:
Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG) in Public Health or allied disciplines from a reputed Institute with minimum three years of relevant post-qualification work experience as on 1st March, 2026 (OR) PhD in Public Health or allied disciplines with minimum one year of relevant post-qualification work experience as on 1st March, 2026.
Familiarity with Odia language is essential.
Desirable:
Candidate with past experience of working on large data sets and having scientific publications will have an added advantage. Women candidates are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills (R/STATA/SPSS or equivalent).
- Experience in qualitative research methods.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Report writing and scientific documentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and government stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel within Odisha and outside for relevant activities
AGE LIMIT: Not exceeding 40 years, as of 1st March, 2026. Age may be relaxed for exceptional candidates.
PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The selected candidate shall initially join for one-year, with the possibility of extension, depending upon performance and funding availability.
REPORTING TO: Prof. Bhuputra Panda, Professor and PI.
